What should we do if we can't find the energy to pray?
Question: What should we do if we can't find the energy to pray?
Answer: To overcome this problem, we can start by praying in ways that require less energy:
Use a prayer beads and recite some dhikr or salawat without thinking much about it. You can do this while walking, on the bus, or while watching a movie/game. Recite shorter ones like "La hawla", "Hasbiya", "Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel", or the prayer of Prophet Yunus.
At any moment alone, especially when lying down, we can express our state to our Lord, even if our state is scattered. "O Allah, my Lord, my King, my Master, my Protector; You see my scattered state, my weakness in my worship, that I can't even pray... Please don't leave me in this state. I can't do it, I don't have the strength. Please don't leave me alone, grant me extra grace. Please, my Lord..."
After practicing these types of prayers that require less energy for a while, you will see that all your energies, including prayer, increase.
For some people, the mentality of "do it quickly and complete it this way" may work. For example, "I will quickly read 10 chapters of the Jawshan in the morning without thinking about anything else." If possible, this also increases the energy reqired for prayers over time.
After that, things that will increase energy in the medium term should be done. Because spiritual energy is also related to life energy.
In this respect:
1-) You must sleep at least a little at night, never stay up all night.
2-) Even if it's just for 5 minutes, do things that will raise your heart rate most days of the week.
3-) At intervals, find environments where you can laugh and have fun within the halal circle with friends.
Most importantly, one should try not to experience states such as anxiety crises, being excessively saddened by things that cannot be changed in the past, and intense fear of the future; in such states, one should distract their mind, even with trivial matters, and talk to friends if they have any...
But one should never throw themselves into the sea of negative emotions such as anxiety, fear, sadness...
